It's hard to grasp all the little pieces that have to come together to have a studio, but after taking a bit of a break to enjoy family time over the summer, things are really starting to move forward. The studio is properly wired and I've successfully run my first bisque and glaze firings. Glaze test tiles are always hard to take time for, but so important, especially when you're starting over with entirely new glazes. I think I've found a few commercial glazes that I really enjoy… and a few that I don't. Now I just need to mix some of my old favorites. You can never have too many glazes. |
